We have collated all of our most frequently asked questions as a go to guide when buying your firewood –
What kind of wood are your logs?
Our hardwood logs are cut from oak, birch, ash, beech, sycamore and alder. Our softwood logs are cut from pine.
What sizes and shapes are your logs?
Most of our logs are split logs 3 to 5 inches wide and between 8 to 10 inches long. Logs can be cut to your preferred size to suit log burning stoves or any other application.
What is the difference between kiln dried and air dried seasoned logs?
Kiln dried as the name suggests are logs that have been dried out using a kiln or other heat source. Our logs are all air dried this takes longer but we believe it delivers a better burning log, and we have ample space to air dry logs at our facility.
What is the difference between hardwood and softwood logs?
Soft wood logs around 30% cheaper than hardwood logs, and are perfect for wood burners, the sap and resin content of softwood logs (when properly dried) help to make softwood logs burn hotter and easier than hardwood logs. Many customers use softwood logs to get the fire started, before adding hardwood logs.
